Your trade and your words

When you sign up, you choose your trade: cleaning, window cleaning, exterior cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning, oven cleaning, kitchen and bathroom fitting, carpet and flooring laying, tree surgery, plastering and dry lining, ceramic tiling, pest control, fire safety and testing, locksmiths and security, waste and skip hire, roofing, handyman and decorating, mobile pet services, driving instructors and tutors, personal trainers, plumbing and heating, electrical, construction and building, property maintenance, mechanics and vehicle repair, landscaping and gardening, hairdressing and barbering, home help, or other. The trade decides what the product calls things. A plumber has customers and call-outs, a garage has repairs, a salon has appointments, and a builder has sites and estimates.

An owner can change the trade in Settings. Only the words change, and nothing you have saved is touched. Under the trade, you can type your own word for anything, in the singular and the plural, and it is used on every screen, in emails, in the client portal and by the assistants.

A new company is given example services and checklists for its trade, and a list of the certifications that trade usually needs. They are examples to edit, and should be checked by someone who does the work.
