The purchase ledger records bills and expenses against your suppliers with the total, the VAT in it and a category, lets you pay a bill in parts, shows what you owe and what is overdue, and keeps a photo or PDF of each receipt. It is a record to give your bookkeeper, not accounting software: it does not do bookkeeping entries, bank reconciliation or VAT returns. Everything is in the data download, receipts included.
